Root Canal Treatment
Although root canal and filling treatment are known as different applications, the goal in both applications is to achieve a healthier structure of the teeth.
Root canal treatment, which is applied in case of dental caries and infections, is one of the procedures applied for the purpose of saving the teeth. During the treatment performed by cleaning the part of the tooth called nerve and pulp, it is ensured that the emptied part is filled with filling materials.

In the past, tooth extraction was performed with the thought that if the pulp, known as the softest structure of the tooth, was damaged, the tooth would become unusable. Thanks to today's technology and scientific developments, even if the pulp is damaged, it is possible to save the tooth with root canal treatment.
Depending on the infection occurring in the tooth and the damage caused by this infection, the probability of saving the teeth increases if the root canal treatment decision to be given by our dentists is taken early. For this reason, we recommend that you immediately apply to our dental clinic when you think that you have a caries or infection in your teeth.
Root Canal Treatment Process
Root canal treatments are processes that are planned depending on the infection and damage to the tooth. For this reason, it is not correct to give a recovery period without the control of the dentist regarding the tooth to be applied. In general, in cases where the tooth is not very damaged, root canal treatments are completed in 1 or 2 sessions. If the tooth damage is much more and the infection has spread, 3 or more sessions may be needed.
Complying with the recommendations of the dentists during the treatment will result in a more successful result of your root canal treatment. Otherwise, you may face the possibility of further damage or complete loss of the tooth.
Filling Treatment
After cleaning the teeth that are structurally damaged due to caries and other reasons, restoring them with filling is called filling treatment. Unlike root canal treatment, only structural adjustments are made because the nerve and pulp part are not damaged.
During the filling treatment, different filling materials can be used according to the patient's demands and the dentist's preference. By choosing among options such as amalgam, beam composite filling, and glass ionomer, the teeth are provided with a healthier appearance.
Filling Treatment Process
Depending on the condition of the tooth decay and infection, there may be differences in the treatment process. In line with the determinations of our dentists, filling treatment is carried out by cleaning the caries. Although the number of sessions to complete the treatment depends on the condition of the tooth, usually 1-2 sessions are sufficient for filling treatments.
